Anyone out there shortened Li fork's to GP. Looks straightforward, extend thread, lenghten slot, cut new bolt recess, shift steering stop then cut top off and were away.

I think the easier way is to cut a section out and re-weld.
The force on the fork stem is more vertical than horizontal so not the amount of strain some might think.

I was planning to do this conversion but I found a straight set of GP forks at a Wicksteed for a good price. I will sell-on the Li forks to recoup the cost of the GP forks.
There were lots of GP forks to choose from at the parts fair.

This is a long story, but. The forks are PM tuning ones with welded on outer shock brackets and anti dive bracket. My logic is that it will be far cheaper to alter them than replace them. Trying to sell them on I don't think will be easy
