I need to order some parts for my Lambretta and because one part is AF specific (close ratio 1st gear) I have to use AF, after a few days of unanswered phone calls (at different times of the day) as I had heard you can only phone them on a smunday between the hours of eleventy and shinty six I am no further on. I don't suppose any other shop has the 1st gear I need (along with other parts I need) and they can have the couple of hundred quid in their till.

Try Andy Francis. He stocks their stuff and may be able to help.

Are these close ratio boxes made from cheese? Why are so many getting damaged?

Mine was due to kickstart shaft piston failing but I have heard that they don't like high HP motors. If I can't get hold of AF I might end up putting a GP box in

these gearboxes are based on an indian 200 gearbox, originaly used a spanish loose 2nd gear and maybe li first gear, and standard sill 200 3rd and 4th gears, with a one off cluster, i think they are all indian construction now, ive had one in my rb250 for quite a few years, ive had a broken cluster, my fault i had clutch drag and should have fixed it, otherwise no problems, im sure how you ride and use the clutch and throttle will have an effect on how long they last, along with genral maintenance,
correct oil level in gearbox helps, magnetic oil drain bolt ,oil changes etc, my next project will be getting one of these gearboxes, i like them.

Perhaps you should try their on-line shop?

Oh, they haven't got one of those either. Perhaps if they did, they would have more time to answer the phone?
