Rubber cover thing.

Hi all, is there a special technique for getting the rubber cover over the gear selector arm? I've never actually fitted one before as I normally modify the selector arm with a stud and nut. As I want to keep this standard I'll be fitting one. Any hints gratefully received as I can't see how it goes on without cutting it....

Warm It up and then slip it on from the front of the selector arm and back towards the circlip. It should be able to flex enough for this.
In iron Lambretta cylinders we trust!

I slide them on from the circlip end, push the selector arm through the hole and the fit circlip/nut and pull back.
A nice flexible one like the Scootopia one makes it easier than the hard rubber ones most suppliers sell.

On page 233 of the second edition of "sticky's" manual theres a picture of how to fit the gear arm cover.

Any lambretta rubber stuff I warm up and use some washing up liquid as a lubricant. The washing up liquid makes a huge difference
