Is the steering lock on an early S3 supposed to lock into a hole in the chrome ring with the steering in the straight ahead position? I've fitted a stainless Chrome Ring that has a hole that is too close to the center for the lock to locate into. The old chrome rig I replaced however has no hole at all.
I saw a post in another forum about a stainless ring with lock hole in the wrong position. However I thought the lock was supposed to work with the steering to one side, not in the center?
