I have two stators who can convert them
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

If you mean DC to AC i.e. they have already have the extra wire? then you don't need to convert them, just earth one of the yellows to the frame and fit an AC regulator......not sure why you would want to do that though

The cost of sending it away and getting it done is probably more expensive than buying a DC wired stator (BGM can be bought for less than £80).
Alternatively have a look at some previous topics which explain how to do it yourself.........with a bit of common sense and the right tools you're probably looking at an hours work........then there's the new rectifier to fit and change your horn etc if you're going full DC.

That's a really bad idea imo!mick1 wrote: (BGM can be bought for less than £80).

What make do you recommend then, Eden?eden wrote:Just seen loads fail over the last two years
Indian rewired with vespa pickup and low tension coil, the one in my winter has been in one or another engine of mine for the last 15 years, and thats not 15 years sitting in the garage going nowhere.
Good components, Well built & maintained will last for years.
Unlucky
Good components, well maintained will last 5 minutes.
But I will put my money on edens comments.
Build it right with quality kit, if it fails then you are unlucky.

If its ac to dc it's simple to do at home, in fact Im doing one today, it's only a matter of desoldering the earth tag on the stator and soldering a new wire on.
