I've got a little bit of oil on my exhaust .

I've had the cowling off today and can't see where it's coming from , I've checked with the engine running , head gasket , inlet and exhaust gasket look good , the only thing that has recently happened is the spark plug came loose , maybe it's just the excess oil finding its way onto the exhaust , scoot runs well no loss of power and the compression is very good , any ideas chaps ? Oh and it's my first lambretta .

No, it isn't normal.

I recently went through the same thing on my first lambretta. In the end it turned out to be a loose blanking plug in my cylinder head.

What cylinder kit is it?

On a J, there isn't much to leak down there, but it has to be from somewhere, is there a hairline crack on the front pipe joining the box,
This is common and can be fixed by dropping and re-welding the joint.

J range isn't it?

Id be looking at the base or exhaust gasket looking at the position of the oil

Thanks for all the replies , I've taken the exhaust off for a closer inspection and umm I think it's more than a hairline crack

I don't know how you both guessed it was a J range just from that one pic .
