I've an old OMG and another old one. I've got them cleared up and turning into the right positions but there's still air passing through on the stop position. Any tips on fixing them?

i don't think there is much you can do apart from clean ,lubricate and fit a new rubber disc/washer inside, i had a brand new tap that had this rubber damaged!

I've found the popular Indian ones with chunks of plastic on are rubbish and eventually fail, so I try and refurbish old Italian ones. The two I've got now seem to allow air through them when I blow into them in the stop position. Over the years hard starting Lambretta's usually seem to flood because the taps don't close properly.

You might have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Scootopia gear has set a new standard and at reasonable prices , thanks goodness.

It's just shame that I can't seems to fix some old ones. I've stripped them down, rebuilt them but can't see how some of them still don't turn off completely.

Mind you even the new OMG fast flow taps are a bit crotchety and stiff. They might be a little bit too much either way and be partially closed for all we know. At least with the Scootopia ones you get a definite click in place.
