Problem fitting Scootopia SX/TV front Brake Cable

Anybody else having or had problems fitting the cable?
I can't get it to fit the Top Hat the original one I have or a Scootopia reproduction.

Was there a difference between Top Hats Drum and Disc?

The disc cable is thicker so old need a bigger top hat, surely?

I'm pretty sure that the disc brakes don't have a top hat,and the casting on the backplate is made for just the cable outer to fit in.

Correct, discs did not originally have a top hat when fitted with the early bigger cable but changed to using a top hat when they changed to the later smaller cable outer and inner.

It's installed as soon as I saw kevspeeds reply, I felt like a numpty.
I have a distant memory now of fitting the top hat when replacing the cable yrs ago.

I've not seen the Scootopia one but I have seen one listed as being an early thicker disc cable and that one had a considerably thicker than normal inner but the outer was not as big as the original disc cable that was fitted to my early TV3 175. This being the case, it was not anything like the fit into the hub backplate of the original cable when the top hat is not fitted and made me think that it falls between the two; not being able to fit a top hat but also not fitting snug without one!

As I say, this is only the case with the non-Scootopia supplied one, however, that dealer does sell Scootopia stuff so they may be the same.
