Engine case holes

Only just noticed these holes in my casing. I dont have them on my other one, why are they there and what should I do about them?

They are inspection holes so you can check brake shoe wear. You can get the correct rubber bungs from Scooter Restorations if you wish to Bung the holed up.

You can, but they can let in a surprising amount of water. Block 'em up with anything, even a bit of gaffa tape over them is better than nothing.

The bungs I got from SR were really stiff, so I fitted some softer grommets from Halfrauds. I'd personally fit something in there, as stated, a lot of water can get in through them.

Ok thanks I'll have a look and see if I can find something similar and hopefully easier than having to make up a SR order just to get the bungs

Yeah - should work, and a good excuse for opening a bottle of wine! If only they still came with corks!

why not put a small domed not with two washers that will sort it out
