Rally 200 drilling airbox

I have a standard Rally 200. The only difference from original is a SIP road exhaust and a 122 main (it may well be dropped to a 120).
I hear of people drilling holes in the airbox. To my eye, I can't see this making any material difference on my set up.
Any thoughts please?

I have same pipe & 120 main on mine with drilled filter... think from memory I drilled a 5 or 6mm hole in the heart shaped area on underside of filter (where it sits over the main jet)...

Thanks for that. Will that allow me to run a very slightly bigger main jet?

Finally got around to doing this. I must say it does work. More torque throughout the full throttle range.

Next thing to do Paul, is put a Malossi 210 top end on. Plenty of torque right the way through the rev range

Still on the original '73 piston believe it or not. I did treat it to new rings before I went to Europe on it last year though !
