I'm just sorting my parts list out for my new scoot
It's a li125 running at present af clubman exhaust and 28mm dellorto carb I think it's running a 175 barrel and piston all brand new rebuild now with the exhaust and carb what's the best kit to fit the 196 muggelo or imola ? I'd like to change the crank at the same time also any advice on this ? Not after massive gains just bit of extra grunt poss change the gears as well

depends how much you want to spend. with a muggelo you would probably get away with a new gp crank and a change of gearing (chain/sprocket) pretty much "bolt on" and you could have a nice tourer with a decent turn of speed ( quicker/more torque than a 200) while still looking/sounding reasonably standard
with an Imola it's a different ballgame, crank, clutch, gearing, ALL bearings, expansion exhaust, carb on opposite side (so battery tray needs removing if it has one) go like stink (as long as you keep it in the power band) and sound like yer riding a "crosser" and trying to race everything else on the road just to go with the flow of traffic.
I know people will say you can set an Imola up to be a tourer, but why strangle all that performance when you can by a "tamer" kit that will do that job better out of the box ?!

If i redo my li 175 af ali kit cylinder scooter i will probably go for the GT cylinder kit.
At least when it seizes it can be rebored.
From what i have seen and read on here it looks a very good cylinder option for the small block.

I own both in different scoots and they are chalk an cheese on my set ups.
The imola ultimate in my series 3 is mental ( 28mm PWK was an NK but soon to be gianelli curly )
The long stroke mugello with reed valve in S2 is all bottom end ( taffspeed pipe and 28 mm PWK )
Obviously use different set ups and they`ll behave differently

Two completely different animals. I've a JB tuned Imola, and as already stated, when on the revs is an animal. Once out of the revs however, it's a pig to ride. If you want something to scream about on and have fun on then go for the Imola, if you want a cruiser, go for the Muggelo. If you're thinking both kits are similar, then you're wrong.

Great kit and a good all-rounder, you won't be disappointed

Thanks for reply I've gone for the muggelo 198 kit should arrive Tuesday
Rite question is now what crank do I need to order is it a 58mm 107 ? Mec or any particular one
Also what gearing do I need to get ?
Many thanks for help

Mec GP crank is fine for the job 58/107 will be a straight fit, 60/107 will give an extra 5cc or so but will need a base packer, use decent quality bearings/seals (fag/skf/rolf) if your using an LI crank at the moment you will need a GP flywheel
as for setup from what you say you have, I would run Muggelo, GP crank, 28mm Dellorto, 42 clubman, as for gearing that should pull 17/46 with an 81 link chain (roughly 5.0-1) if that's too tall 16/46 (5.3-1) and a standard clutch with decent springs will more than cope with it,
p.s make sure you get bearings from a reputable dealer as there's a lot of imitation crap out there
hope that helps
