Can't you get a thinner shim for the rear sprocket?

I always do .I first set the the crown wheel and clutch as low as it will go to get the 0.10mm clearance that is needed with the thinnest shim available this also makes the clutch sit lower and reduces the risk of the kick-start touching the top plate on the clutch I then measure the height at 6 equal intervals on the rear sprocket and find an average then I fit the front and measure again using through same method I'll then look at how thick the throw washer is and compensate. but normally it's not enough so I just lap the drive sprocket sleeve down to the correct height

I believeit reduces the amount of metal in the oil which can cause driveside seal failure
If all it does is help you belive you have put your engine together in the best possible way then it has to be worth it ,why spend 300 on a crank 500 on a kit 400 on a clutch and not do it ? I'm sure ever dealer does it don't they. ..

I suppose the main problem is finding a base to measure both sprockets accurately.
