measured my piston to see if cylinder has been bored out. With my vernier calliper it measures 62.4mm across but on the top of it it is engraved with an 08. I have found a box of bits that came with the scooter and there is the old piston box marked 62mm 1.5mm - 08.

The 1.5mm I think is the thickness of the rings. But am wondering if my calliper are Not too accurate and the piston is 62.8mm.

It's a 175 kit that's on it.

Cheers bruce

I would take 3 readings anywhere around top and write them down. You could also take internal cylinder readings. I find that if you start measuring with a pre conceived figure that you tend to subliminally dial that measurement up, if you know what mean.

I have seen many wrong sized pistons in boxes so take nothing for granted. If you have piston to cylinder wear, have it rebored and fit new piston for peace of mind.
