Dis-lodged wire on the ignition circuit in the headset at a guess.
Isolate the green from loom at the coil/cdi end and try to start it again, if it starts fault is in the loom/headset.

your speedo bulb holder is shorting out on one of the green ignition wires in the head set ,they are very close to each other !

Thanks Shaun after a couple of hours checking found wires broken on the back of the ignition switch. Easily overlooked due to the rubber cover. Now replaced and running. Thanks for the advice.

Unless one of the broken wires was touching earth and was the one that goes to the CDI, it is likely that the fault is still there and waiting to happen again :(

What sort of ignition switch is it btw, Indian ones are notoriously prone to developing internal shorts.

It was Indian. Swapped it out and all is running so it could have been a combo of the broken wires and something else. Will have to wait to see if it re surfaces but hopefully sorted.

Edit:Thinking about it one of the broken wires was red and touching the ignition back so that would be the short coaster.
