I need an original 6 volt electronic flywheel but will a 12 volt SIL one work?

Magnets don't determine voltage (usually). It's all in the coils.

A SIL should work as long as the trigger lines up.

Not sure why you want to go this route but a mate had his Lou changed to 12v but bought a BGM regulator the little one. He got a 6v one by mistake and it worked fine giving 6V his problem was that he had dim lights as he had changed his bulbs to 12v
So in short a 6 volt regulator will work on 12 v. It may get warm but his didn't.

So the original 6volt electronic stator and the SIL stator look as if the pick ups are in the same place.so hopefully the sil stator will work. I will give it a go and feedback.

So I got the SIL flywheel and parts in the post, the original 6v electronic stator is slight bigger by about 1mm that the SIL stator. The original 6v stator will sit into the flywheel but could get damaged so I'll have to leave it for now, those original parts aren't cheap.
