I remember a while ago, on another forum, someone mentioning using a heat sink around the barrel, head or wherever. Has anyone got any advice on this?

It was probably around the exhaust flange as per 60's bike practice.

i have also seen finned base and head gaskets that might aid cooling but i have no experience of them or heard of anyone else using. but my theory is that the brass/alloy gaskets are such that they should get hot and expand quicker to seal better.
