I'm having a play with a TMX35 carb on my TS1 and love the carb and how it accelerates etc very nice indeed. My jetting can't be far out (plug not quite brown but more a mix of greyish/black) but I am thinking my main jet is very big, it's on a 370 and no sign of getting boggy, is this normal? I have pressure tested my engine and no signs of leaks.
To date my carb has:
Main 370
56 needle middle clip
Air screw 2 turns out.
Any thoughts?

370 main jet seems massive on a std TS1?
I run a 340 main, 20 pilot, 53 needle on the 2nd clip, with a Taffy exhaust (on a std TS1)
Just bought a brand new TMX35 to replace the one I've had on for 6 years, and as I've bought a new exhaust I'll be having the scoot dyno'd again before the season starts in a few weeks. I expect the main jet may possibly go up to 350, but not as large as a 370.

I have spent the evening reading up on spark plug colour/doing plug chops. It would appear that I have been reading my plug wrong, I have been concentrating on the white porcelain part, which hasn't been changing much as I have increased the jet. Having done a bit of reading on the subject I can see that my plug was probably ok at around 340 main and is now on the rich size. I'll try and get a photoToot-oasc wrote:370 main jet seems massive on a std TS1?

My mate road runner ian (on here) has similar set up to yours and think hes running a 320 main although he runs with a filter.

325 main, 25 pilot, 56 needle, 2nd clip.....should be very close. Finish off with plug chops and/or Dyno sessions.

Thanks for the jetting advice, I have done what you suggested apart from I have a 320 in there as I haven't got a 325. Scoot runs great and did a plug chop on a dual carriage way going up hill so under a fair bit of load:drunkmunkey6969 wrote:325 main, 25 pilot, 56 needle, 2nd clip.....should be very close. What do you think?
