Hi got a t5 just had it sand blasted and found lots of holes :-(
Both sides engine bay lower lip is toast
As is the lower edge spare wheel side.
If I replace the metal the vin number will be cut out with the rot.
Half the vin is unreadable due to the rust.
If I restamp it people will think its dodgy if I resell it later on.
So whats the norm.

Was this on facebook the other day?
Me ...... And this is just me..... Other opinions are available.
I had one years ago. Very similar to yours . Rust in the same areas.
I cut it out and welded in plates. It wasnt the prettiest.

As i knew it wasnt stolen i bought a vin plate off evilpay and restamped the numbers onto it and rivetted it onto the frame.

As you have pictures of the frame you can show prospective buyers and explain the frame number. Hou can also photograph the frame number you can see.

Problem is nowerdays with people stealing scooters and swapping frame numbers. People get twitchy... As would i to be honest.

Not that i am implying it stolen.

In all fairness you have to be lucky to read the numbers on a px frame dont take much paint to cover them
