I saw loads of old scooters running around Saigon. Just simple daily drivers, not great and not too shabby either. If you saw them being driven around in the UK by some old bloke you'd buy them in a heartbeat.
The trouble with buying one is that you've no idea whether you're getting a well restored bargain or a hideous bodge that will try and kill you at the first opportunity.

some good some bad- Randalls are good from what I've seen- others as well. Some look great but hide a multitude of sins.
Re the "old bloke" comment, that explains why young bucks now stop me in the street on my Lammy!!

Is there anything newer than nine years old about Pat's shop?

I spoke to a Vietamese guy who told me they like to modernize them, hence all the rebuilds from Series 2's into Series 3's etc. He was also keen to get any Series 1 bits and send them back to Vietnam as they weren't imported there.
I don't buy from Vietnam anymore too many made up shipping charges
