Hi, when my engines cold (left over night) the play in my clutch lever is a good 2mm, the problem i have when the engines hot after about 10 mile of riding i can stop at a junction or traffic lights, put it into first and the bike wants to sneak forward and the play in my lever has got to about 5 or 6 mm, I,ve changed the clutch cable after reading that it may be fraying and stretching but it was ok, so now i,m thinking is it the plates , springs or spider, thing is when engine goes cold again the play in the lever goes back to 2mm :?

If it's a standard motor then Surflex B grade should be ok although I like the Reedspeed plates. If it's an early clutch with the centre spindle that fits in the cluster, when you strip it down fit the pressure plate with no springs and make sure it slides up n down freely. If it binds turn it to the next position until it slides free. Then check the spider and crownwheel for burrs. Something is sticking when you pull the lever in and this is what gives you the extra play in the cable, also check the clutch shaft is free in the side casing.
