pacemaker gearbox

just bought my new project a nice 1964 li150 silver special as original as you can get can some one tell me when they changed the week gearbox 3rd on these all I can find is early ones had a week 3rd thanks :D

i am giving it a full nut and bolt resto as a true special but i have a nice af 175 iron kit from my other scoot and a25mm delorto af 42 box ithink that will be the only changes just to give it a bit more wumff i am going to take a lot of pics and i wil post some up

if its that original why bother doing a resto? As Coxy used to say- "they are only original once!"

agree with chris leave it alone or treat it to a descent engine and upgrades brakes suspension etc

My '65 import had the thick 3rd gear but the earlier drilled cluster and as far as I could tell no one had been inside the motor,so it was either fitted in the factory or went to a service centre.

thanks wack63 when you say thicker by what 2 or3 mm I bet there is something in stickys bible :lol:

The teeth on the loose 3rd gear are visibly thicker on the end compared to the other gears.

this is my 64 silver special, needs new seals and bearings looks like engine hasnt been opened still runs ok i,m keen to keep it totally original points and 6 volt............
