Early last year I read about a large block kit which complete with crank should retail for around €800 with an impressive power outtake.

Now I cannot find any information about this.

Does anyone remember or was it an April's joke?

I'm guessing you're thinking of the Quattrini M-232 / 244 kits and cranks.

No but from what I've read the extra expense over a Malossi probably isn't justified other than bragging rights and exclusivity.
