Just finishing rebuild of a 69 bog stanbdard GP125 engine, all as it was except new bearings seals rings etc, still on 6 volt points. Where abouts should I be setting the timing please? Book says 21 degrees but what should it be with todays fuels etc. my kitted scooters (mugellos) are at 17 degrees.

Totally stock, you should be OK with 21 but if you wanted to play it safe go to 19 and call it done.

And use highest available octane.
