I have just put a new RB barrel and piston on my series 3 along with a new Scoot rest lightened flywheel and stator. The bike was running fine prior to these changes but wont fire now. I have a good spark and the plug is pretty wet after 2 dozen kicks. Any ideas, it has me stumped. I have managed to get it to fire about 3 times but just dies straight away and takes huge amount of kicks to get even that.

I don't think its the CDI as I have strong spark.... :?

Try taking the timing back towards 19 degrees to see if the starting improves then strobe it.
My electronic kit difference, static setting to strobe setting is 3 degrees.

My scooter building expertise only goes so far, so after failing i gave it to the surgeon to sort out, turned out i had taken a bit out of one of the stator wires when fitting so was shorting out.. Not sure why i was still getting a spark though
