The scooterrestorations lightned flywheel is £20 cheaper than the AF version, has anyone had both? There both indian in origin so i guess its down to quality and fit. It would be going with a BGM stator.
Thanks

SR will probably be SIL ones with the fins turned down. I'm not sure about AF, but I suspect they might be Elemec ones. They'll both do the same job anyway.

I've got a lightened flywheel from SR, I think around 2kg on a BGM stator and also had it on a SIL stator and no issues, all on a Monza. Plus have the BGM flywheel and stator on a TS1 Slightly better pick up on acceleration, but probably a lot of money for not much more in terms of pickup.

I`ve tried them all
SR now offer their lightened version - they take a genuine SIL flywheel and machine the fins to Italian height and take seem meat of the outer to reduce the weight.
AF do two lighter versions - fully lightening which is similar to the old ducati type and mid weight which is made by elemec - it is lightened in the same way SR do it.
I started with a standard weight SIL and used it for a while no problems on a TS1 - then AF brought out the lightened one so I tried that but it would not fire on the SIL stator, I then tried the elemec mid weight again it wouldn't fire so reverted back to SIL but I lightened it and welded the boss.
I`m sure if I worked on the flywheel/stator/mag housing to align the pick up I could have got the two AF products to work but I couldn't be bothered.
I now only use the SIL set up on all my 3x road TS1s ## and any builds I do one for others.
I keep a spare SIL flywheel just in case so I know if required i`ve got a straight swap without pick up alignment issue.
## I have another TS1 with one of the last ducati kits AF sold
If you go SIL I would recommend you weld the boss
Hope this helps.
