lambretta muggy starts but will not go
Just built a new 225 mugged engine with 34mm delloto. It starts eventually ticks over revs but very boggy bottom end.Soon as I pull clutch in and try and set off it stalls.I know jetting not perfect but would expect it to go.Any ideas?

Have you got your gear cables the right way round?
You could be selecting second gear and trying to pull away?

I'd have thought the carb is a bit on the big side for your setup. The Mugello is a fairly mild tune so a 30mm carb would be about right, a 34 would be more suited to a higher revving motor, TS1 etc.
Tried new fuel new plug ,timings ok strip down of carb next
Even though the choke works it seems really tight the copper plunger and the spring doesn't look long enough could this be it ?Have ordered a new one
Right a bit of progress mate has fixed a air leak and checked timing choke replaced seems a lot better but really rich bottom end and still really hard to set off till you get to half throttle tried a lower pilot jet 38 but can't get anything out of the mixture screw its a vhsb carb going to try a 30 pilot but I think that's the lowest you can go is there any other way to lean the bottom end out?
