Bought a shed load of parts for my resto, cylinder kit, carb, exhaust and ignition.Muggy 200 and Ancelloti exhaust.

Why is this bracket in the wrong place?

And the tab on the kickstart hits the pipe???

Anyone else had this?
As it was all bought from the same place,I really would have excpected it to fit

I think its an early engine with the later exhaust.

Early engines did not have a threaded hole to take a bolt from the exhaust- the early WSM recommends that the bracket from the exhaust is removed; the square support shown on your engine is drilled and tapped; the bracket is rewelded into the "old" correct place; and a suitable bolt utilised to secure.

The K/S lever is either badly made and/ or the exhaust is also I'm afraid.

That's going to be awkward. As Chris said, the best thing to do would probably be to cut that bracket off. You haven't got anywhere to mount it anyway. You might even be able to grind a bit off the end of the tongue on the kickstart so that it clears.

Thanks guys,I can see that that's the only way forward, cut the bracket off and re weld it on in the correct position.Thats not really a problem, but Jesus, the kick start is a nightmare.Even if I cut the tab on the kickstart, cant see how it will clear the box. This is so frustrating considering all the parts were bought from the same place and they knew what model and year my Scooter was when I ordered all the parts.
I feel a phone call coming on when they re open.

You may find that things line up a bit better when the U pipe is fitted, and you might have to do away with some of the dome nuts for the tail pipe.It might all fit with a bit of twisting and levering sadly.

the problem is that they are remade parts- they may be made very well indeed, but the dimensions only have to be a fraction out and the fitting error multiplies.

The position of the bracket on the exhaust is understandable- the "problem" is your Chaincase doesn't have the factory drilled and tapped fitting hole as its too early ( the mod came in at Milan around 1966 when SX came on stream). A later case would line up with the bracket (or close enough) You CAN remove and reposition, but be very careful when drilling and tapping the chain case- if you break through you are fecked!)

The K/S tab can be trimmed back until it just clears the pipe (as stated above some bending of the pipe will be required as well)

Agree the exhaust looks right for a later drilled casing, I think MB was publicising a bracket for this sort of 'problem'.

I also think it might look different with the U bend fitted, be worth trying that.

Telling your dealer that you have a 61 or a 67 bike means nothing, anything and everything could have been changed in the past 50 odd years and likely has - unless it's been laid up since - and even then they'll send you what they have on the shelf. The can't test every remade part on every combination of possible other parts. That's just unrealistic.

Every new kickstart pedal I've had to cut about 1/2" off the tab and then file or grind it into the correct shape to miss the exhaust tailpipe.

I'd cut the exhaust bracket off and have done with it. Weld it in a different position and you'll ruin that nice powder coat, or whatever it is. You'll have to have it repainted. And then you've got to tap out the casing to take it. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. It shouldn't vibrate that much once it's fixed in position.

The reason Innocenti introduced that bracket was to stop exhausts shaking themselves to bits. I think there may also have been a mod recommended to move the bracket and tap the other block on older casings.

You could do without it and trim the tailpipe down like some of the Spanish standard pipes.
