Im putting my 5 speed back in after an engine rebuild. Prevously iv faffed around with a camera phone, not ideal. I understand that by drilling holes in the endplate you can get a better view of the gear and christmas tree meshing. Has any one done this and if so where is the best place to drill out the holes. Dont really want it to be like a collinder...

Why not use one of these Syd in conjuction with a laptop

I have one and it works fine, would be a lot more suited to checking the clearances on the gearbox

Bought one of these myself. Value for money and nice clear picture.

That is the business, I had thought about one but didn't think the cheaper ones would be any good.
I have just passed the tablet to the Mrs and made grunting sounds.......she is in charge of the eBay account..
Cheers guys

Drilled the small hole to use an LED light and a dental mirror, with which i didn't succeed in anything other than frustrating myself.
Drilled the larger hole and did the job with decent lighting and no problems.

Cheers guys, i drilled the hole and brought the endoscope you reccomended.
Thing is i cant get the laptop to receive video from the camera. The pc has uploaded software okay and the camera was plugged in before i dumped the disc. For some reason its only alowing me to import images from the camera not view real time video.
Anyone had this problem.
Thanks
Sef
