just putting together a engine and using a stock 20mm delly and manifold which I bought from separate sources, problem being is the manifold is way too large to insert (oh er...

) into the carb body, any decent tricks or tips to get the buggers to fit without knackering anything? cheers Paul

You've probably been sold a 22mm manifold. Dremmel and emery paper I'm afraid.
You could sit watching TV whilst rotating the manifold in s sheet of emery paper.

Nope its the right manifold Chris 19.41.1004, its just bloody tight, yep was going to go the emery cloth route, just wanted to see if there was a easier way (lazy git) oh the 20mm is off a serveta while the manifold is italian, don't know if this makes any difference.cheers Paul

shouldn't make any difference if the parts are genuine- my thoughts are that the manifold is a remade item possibly?

Hello Chris, the manifold in innocenti stamped, it may be a remade item but looks pretty authentic to me, just have to start rubbing it down I guess, thanks for the replies, Paul

even the remades state "innocenti" - Looks like a rub down with emery. Should be OK IDC- it only needs to9 be a fraction oversize to cause problems.

Once rebuilt a Li 150 motor and grabbed a manifold out of another box of 150 bits and this was way to big to fit the carb on. When i checked the manifold id fitted was off a indian GP150 and was as i say a larger od than the Li 150 one.
