I've got what looks like an early version of an Electrex Lammie electronic stator and flywheel, the problem being the wires are all different colours to the standard Indian flavour we're all used to. I've got a brown, two yellows, a black/white and a black/red. Anyone know what they correspond to as I don't know which wire goes to where on my CDI and regulator? Looks like a quality bit of kit to be fair.

Post a photo of it. I'm sure some one here could translate the color code.

Why not trace the wiring out.
One will go to the HT coil ....... Green on a up to date stator
One will go to the black-box pick-up. Red on an up to date stator
One will go to the metal of the plate. White (earth) on an up to date stator
The rest will probably be on the lighting coils. On a modern stator all the lighting coils are in series (yellow wire)

I take it you have the electrex flywheel as well ?
Early ones need a different cdi to the "normal" vespa type . There are at least two to my knowledge, a black "master igniter" abd a red one which loots the same as an "auto" one.
Ive been told they can be altered to us a vespa type by changing the polarity of the pick up, but ive never tried it .
I have an electrex with a master igniter cdi ...and also the wiring "diagram" , but not much use if you dont have the other parts ?

Cheers Daggs, I'll trace the wiring as per your suggestion. I'll post what I find so that if anyone else has one of these the results will come up on a search.

Yes Carlos, I have a flywheel with it with a black plastic fan that's secured with allen bolts. It looks like no other lammie flywheel I've ever seen so I'm assuming it's designed to work with the stator. What makes me thinks I've got an early one is that the flywheel they show on their website here: http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/acatalog/STK-720.html is different to what I have.

Think I should give them a call tomorrow to ask their advice.
