Disc Brake Caliper Piston.

Hello there I'm hoping somebody might be able to advice me.

A while ago i bought a complete new LML disc brake fork/ hub/ caliper etc to convert a drum brake scooter to a disc brake scooter. I've just got around to fitting it to the scooter during a rebuild and whilst i quickly had the pads out to put some copper slip on the rear of them i looked into the recess where the pistons are located and couldn't see an obvious looking piston. What i could see were two sort of hollow inverted metal cups with the hollow rim uppermost. The edge of these cups sat virtually flush with each half of the caliper itself. (I was unable to move them or take them out.) My question is this ; Are these hollow rimmed cups the pistons themselves or does something sit inside them?

Thanks.

That's how they are,but if the caliper is used consider pumping the pistons out to clean them, the bore and seal rebates.

Ok thanks for your help. It's a new caliper, but it just didn't look right if that makes sense. Cheers.
