6v horn on 12v system

Will it work or will I need to change it. Not got engine in yet so can't try it. Thanks Graeme
A 6vAC horn will work on a 12vAC system, I've done it more than once. A DC horn won't work on an AC system (or vice versa)

Just done one today for somebody. Converted to 12 Volt AC electronic and the original 6v horn is now very loud.
