P200E No Spark

Bike back together after splitting cases. No spark. stator plate marked before removal and put back again using the marks, so its not timing. I took measurements from the stator wires (red and white) (green and white) and they are all within tolerance. I also took the green wire which goes to the loom out of the equation. Still no spark. HT lead removed, trimmed at both ends, refitted to cdi and suppressor cap, still no spark. Tried seperate cdi, this was working last year when I took it off, still no spark.. Doing my nut in now.. Any ideas please??

Try the HT lead to the engine casing and/or frame, without HT cap or plug, so that you know plug and cap are not the fault.

is the green wire (to the loom) trapped or shorting to earth ?

mick1, I dont think so, is there a way of checking using a multi meter?

whiles it fitted up :-
im sure you've tried another plug ?
rule out the plug cap by taking it off and checking the lead to earth
check the condition of the red, white and green wires for corrosion or poor connections (loose spades)
make sure the red, white and green are correctly fitted to the cdi (spades on connectors in correct order)
Flywheel off :-
make sure the wires aren`t crushed behind the stator
check all soldered joints and earths are solid on the stator especially the pick up (the small black box)
try and get hold of another stator and cdi off a known running bike to try (never a bad thing having both spare)
Good Luck
edit few of my suggestions already posted

gaz_powell. Checked with another plug, also checked with spare Cdi i had knocking around which I am sure was working. Checked condition of wires to cdi, but not at the stator end. I did the checks though which I found on another website for resistance checks, all were bang on for tolerance. I am baffled with this I must admit. Apart from changing the stator, I think I have tried everything else..

I m struggling with suggestions now - it appears you`ve tried everything - next stop would be a stator and cdi off a working bike - you need to call in a favour of a fellow local vespa rider...... where are you ?
