Rear hub bearing.....which one?

Got a little bit of play on my rear wheel, checked endplate etc the only movement I could see when I had when I took her apart was with just the layshaft in place (with rear hub on and torqued up) there's a little bit of movement when I wiggle the layshaft. Everything back together, all shimmed up proper, there is a wiggle on the back wheel, not a great deal, can't see the wheel move but I am thinking of changing the rear bearing just to be on the safe side.

What do people recommend for a replacement bearing? Without breaking the bank but not a cheap and cheerful that will last two minutes. Tia

A tiny amount of play is normal, and if you can't see the wheel move then there's nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I have heard it's normal, but, the wheel on my series 2 is solid, no movement whatsoever.

If it was me, I wouldn't do anything- some slight movement is normal.

You could always fit an aftermarket bearing and then return to this forum enquiring as to why it doesn't fit/ sits proud/ sits too deep/ has play etc etc etc.

I'd rather use a good original Innocenti item rather than a remake.

I'll leave it for now and keep an eye on it, if it starts to get any worse then I'll have a re-think. Also, I'm off to the dyno (Chiselspeed) next week so I'll ask the dyno operator what he thinks

hi just had same problem changed hub bearing layshaft shims still had wobble then changed endplate bearing track problem solved no movement at all

Scootopia RIV Italian rear hub bearing. RIV supplier to Innocenti back in the day and Scootopia have the factory blueprints with exact sizes.
Did you check the endplate float with gearbox and rear hub fully torqued up?
