Candy is just a lacquer with a colour tint and is usually applied over a white or silver baser. Cellulose or Acrylic (single pack or 2 pack) basses will be fine, manufacturer doesn't matter.

If you use one of the various candy concentrates available, you can mix it with the clearcoat of your choice.

As long as the system you are using is compatible, adding the candy shouldn't make much difference.

Incedently, why do you want to mix system ?, custom painting is tricky enough without inviting problems. Also, have you ever shot candy before ?, if not, the best tip I could give is to use the house of kolor system, and mix the kandy concentrate into SG100 intercoat clear. It goes on like basecoat, and is massively forgiving in terms of getting the colour even. Anybody that ever used the old metalflake acrylic candies will know the pain of seeing banding in the colour when the job was taken into bright sunlight.
