I need a 12V battery on my Lammy.

Is there a particular type I have to get?

Hi Bilko,

Do you want an original size/shape battery, or just something to be a reservoir of 12v DC power?

If it is the latter, try a sealed battery from Yuasa. They are fitted with simple 4mm or 6.3mm spade connectors and come in lots of shapes and sizes. they are commonly fitted to burglar alarms, but you can also buy them on line from companies like RS Components and Rapid Electronics (a very useful company with cheap nuts and bolts if you're putting an order together - http://www.rapidonline.com/).

Yuasa have good data sheets with Ah ratings and physical dimensions.

You can mount these at any angle, as they are filled with a gel, rather than a liquid.

Cheers

I bought my 12volt 7.2 Ah sealed lead acid battery from Maplin, I think I paid around £28. Seems to be performing ok despite me over charging it with 15+ volts

Me too, then I found an auto electrical supplier that did them at half the price
