Long stroke 150?

Just a random thought while I was at work (my jobs pretty boring

) I've often wondered why innocenti didn't carry on making engines with a longer stroke crank after the TV175, its a great engine, lovely power delivery, silky smooth etc Recently I've come across a couple of TV175 cranks for half decent coin on ebay and thought how about making a long stoke 150 using the TV crank, packer and GP150 top end (Italian though the Indian GP barrel has a crap port layout and less power) What would be required? would the piston need to be shortened? compression ration changed? like I said before its just a random thought though I do like the idea of a smoother 150 engine. TV 175 have longer rods not longer strokes.

And a different gudgeon pin position on the piston to compensate.
You'd need to find a piston to suit or use a 9mm packer.

bore to 64mm and use a suzuki 185 piston and a 2mm packer,your right though, a 116mm rodded engine is way smoother than the 107, wish there were more kits with options to use this rod, a GT kit in this format would be awesome

That's the rod I use in my GT250 tune. I like it
but a 115.

This is why the Mugello range is available with Pistons for both the 107 and 116 rods, with the 116 option being more popular in Italy than in the UK.
