I am going to change gearing tv175 box, with 15x47 sprockets, Mugello 186, phbh 28, jl3 .The jl3 is going to be swapped for a Af 42mm clubman, going back to a 26 phbh, going to drop down to a 14 front, it runs out of puff in top as it is , i want something with more torque, i do some 2 up sometimes. The final drive ratio is 4.92, if i use a 14 tooth it will come down to 5.27, will this be a better choice, any thoughts please :?

Thanks Ian

no mate, its going to put a lot of strain on your clutch using such a small front sprocket, if ita a huge problem then you should consider a gp125/200 or li150 box, you could sell the tv box to pay for it

I would happily swap a Li150 gearbox for the TV one. But I would not do that to the fella. Stick with that gear box and 28mm carb, change the exhaust and see how it goes.

I did the C2c a number of years ago on the same gearbox and it flew over the passes and kept up with the 200's on the motorway on the return journey.
