Iv now got to the point where im just not happy with my malossi 210 anymore, its just not nice to ride, its the old style kit and i want a change,

sick of constantly having to be on the power and having to constantly change gear, get caught in the wrong gear and it won't pull, then splutter or bog,

so just wondering what my options are,

I don't want to go back to complete standard p200, but want more of a touring set up, the casings are already matched to the malossi, so was wondering what my options are,

spec of my malossi 210 is as follows -

engine casings ported to match,

phbh 28 running air hose
mmw head
pinasco crank
timing set to 18 degrees
T5 7 spring clutch with 22/68 gearing -
T5 4th gear
SIP performance left hand exhaust
running a sip wide wheel, with over size tyre - 120/90/10,

just wondering if the new malossi sport kit would be better as its power is lower down and has more torque?

also thinking of going back to an si 24 carb instead of the phbh

and look at different clutch as the t5 clutch with uprated spring is a bitch to pull

any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated

Has this got 57mm or 60mm crank?

its a 57mm crank,

seriously thinking to go down the polini route instead, more torquey kit,

dunno whether to keep the 28mm phbh with a polini 210 kit or go back to an si 24

Keep kit......but run a 60mm crank, reed valve and tour pipe.

60mm crank with 1.2mm packer a head gasket to give 1.5mm - 1.9mm squish.

hoping to keep the JL pipe,

I don't really want to open the casings for reed valve,

hence was looking at polini instead and maybe going back to si 24 instead of the phbh 28,

i know long stroking would be better but would it solve my problem?

Try just altering piston as link I added m8
Then if still not happy buy a 60mm crank

The pipe is the heart of your machine, choose a pipe to suit your needs as opposed to hoping what you've got will somehow manifest into something it isn't.

The 60mm crank will bring up the transfer timing which is what the older kits lacked and which is what makes them so peaky.

The reed valve will bring up the bottom end and mid range power even further.

Does what it says on the tin.

Just to add, you could change to a Cosa type clutch. Nice and easy to pull in, also available in 20t-21t-22t-23t. With tons of spring options too. People like Scooter Center,SIP etc making their own versions of the above aswell.

Imo the main problem is the gearing the gap between 3rd and 4th is to big. The t5 4th gear does not solve this that well. Change the primary to a px125 and put a 22 touth clutch in. This will keep you in the power and you can pull in 4th from 30mph to top speed. I talking from first hand experience and had a 210 on the road for a few years in this guise. I have now sold it but if I did it again I would like to try the dry gear options
