gearbox rebuild problem tight in one spot

Building a new motor just added the gearbox in and it spins ok but there's a spot where it's gets slightly tighter in any gear but neutral, not too tight you can still spin it with the clutch spider attached. Its a new hub bearing and I've tried it with the end plate off and its fine in neutral so suspect it's the bearing .The bearing looks fine and central .The only other thing i can think of may be the new o ring.Any ideas. Havent got the back hub on yet so that may make a diffrance. Is this normal I've had the same tightness with crank bearings but it been all the way round when new.

The o ring doesn't move and nor should the inner race of the hub bearing in relation to the layshaft.
In neutral you're turning the cogs on the lay shaft and not the shaft or bearing so you're bound to feel a slight increase in resistance when the gear is engaged.
Is the end plate original to the casing?

End plate gearbox out of another engine, the resistance is only in gear but at one certain point of the rotation

Fit one gear at a time with the endplate on. Bit of a ball ache but it may show which gear goes tight. Then if it is a certain cog inspect it real close as you may find a damaged tooth.

Found the problem it was the gear slector rubbing, tried a different one and it's fine.

you say you havent put the hub back on , this is essential or at least a puller for the final shimming of gear box as the layshaft my not be fully home.
