I know this has been asked before, but can someone offer a little guidance?
I've previously reg'd several scooters over the years, but always have had them insured on the frame number and ready to go. On this site I think i've seen someone saying a scooter can be reg'd without insurance? Is that possible? If so, how is it done? Does it still involve using a V55/5 form?
thanks ...Andy...

It can be done but you need to SORN it as soon as you receive your V5.
You'll need; dating cert, MOT, NOVA V55/5 and fee.

Thanks Billy, but I was under the impression DVLA wouldn't reg. it without an insurance document?

Correct

So when I fill out the V55/5 and it says 'what date should the road tax start' Do i just enter SORN in that box?

I did mine without insurance but historic tax. Either include the fee or suggest to enter SORN

Sorry, I didn't make that clear. Mine would also be in the 'historic' category.

Did you not get an inspection then? You are lucky but at least that proves that inspections are still random,
Rich'
