Any tips for getting the rear hub nut off an engine on the bench?

Make a wheel holder using an old rim with a bar welded to it.

That's on my 'to do' list as I have a similar tool I made for Lambretta hubs but at the moment I can't find any spare Vespa rims in the shed...
I was hoping to rob the brake shoes out of the spare motor and stick them in the pig and take a pootle down to Millport this afternoon though...

Found a set of shoes loose in the shed so Cinderella might go to the ball after all...

The Lamby holder should hold it providing the nut isn't seized on. Fit the holder onto a hub stud and fit a nut then give the socket wrench a sharp jab with your palm and it should come undone. To save space when you make a Vespa holding tool from an old rim, drill extra holes to match a Lamby hub.

I tried the Lambretta one but bent it as it didn't fit quite right and the engine rolling about on the bench. It shouldn't be seized as the engine has only done about 80 miles since it was rebuilt last, but it's bloody tight.
I'll make a proper tool when I have time now the urgency has gone. Thanks for the suggestions.

How much do you need to spend to get a half decent one? Recommendations?
I did look but most seemed to have a 1/4" drive or lowing torque ratings and £200 plus ones seemed overkill for the odd time I would need it.
