Trying to rebuild my Scootrs external disk brake set up and I want to put a replacement disk on but I can't work out how to remove the caliber bracket. I've got the rim off and the caliper but there is nothing apparently holding the caliper bracket in place on the spindle. Help?

On my chopper the chrome bracket the caliper fits onto is held onto the spindle by a wider part on one end of the spindle.
To get the bracket off you have to take the nut off the opposite side of the bracket on the spindle.
Then push the spindle back towards the bracket so the spindle is completely removed.
Then bracket slides off spindle .
Think this is what you mean.

Cheers just need to find a way of removing the nut at the other end. Anyone know what thread the spindle is?

Usually right hand.
Put it back in the forks, tighten the offside spindle nut against the links then loosen the near side nut from the hub side.

As there's no nut to undo on the caliper end I guess I'll have to use a pair of nuts locked together to hold the spindle while I undo the other end?

There should be one that holds it to the forks on the caliper side. That's the one I mean.that tightens against the shoulder on the spindle allowing you to loosen the one on the hub side that usually sits between the hub and the link.
