Panel Hook Retaining Clips

Which way do they go in, the tear in the metal must do something?

the "prong" on the clip faces inwards, so that when the "W" bracket hangs down to facilitate a rear wheel change, the prong guides it back into place when its raised.
Does that make any sense?

Are you referring to handled side panels or non handled ones?
