One of the threads is knacked for rear hub holding tool to scew into and I can't pull it with two as it twists and starts to bend the other two , what best re tap it ? If so to what size ? Or is there another way?

You can get pullers that locate behind the hub rim, dealers tend to have them as they are original tools, whereabouts are you are you close to a scooter shop?

You could drill and tap it, probably 8mm as the originals should be 7mm, remember to drill out your puller as well.

Alternatively, tap your hub from the other side with a rubber mallet. Keep moving the hub around (take wheel off and put scoot on a stand). The hub will come off. Buy a new hub.

i made my own , i used the puller that you already have, half an old wheel rim and some bits of angle iron and welded them together, its not pretty but bolts to the hub with 4 nuts, tighten up the middle bolt and its off, no damage to the hub or paint. i also welded a bit on the side sticking out so it hits the floor, so you can undo the big nut in the middle.

I love home made tools I have something I made over 30 yrs ago that fits under the hub ive nearly chucked it away a few times but then suddenly it gets used

Got it off with the rubber mallet by moving it round like advised. , hub still in one bit but going yo buy a new one anyway cheers

The rubber mallet way is how they tell you to do it in the Lambretta Servicemans book i've got, published by Lambretta Concessionaires in the 50/60s

Yes but Lambretta Concessionaires were the supplier of new hubs....

I've seen Ben at AF put the engine stand on and give the rear wheel a couple of bangs with his hand and Bingo the wheel/hub came loose, tried it myself and got a sore hand and hub still there !!
