After starting my new build a couple of times, I found it wouldn't start, there was no spark so I tested the stator with a multi-meter and found that I am not getting any reading from the red wire (I believe this should read around 90?), it is reading 1, any thoughts?

I assume you are checking between the red and the white wires?
On most multimeters what you have indicates an open circuit. I would check your earth (usually white) is ok by checking resistance between it and the stator base. It should be zero or maybe 1 ohm (not 1. that indicates open circuit), or use the audible function on your meter to check for continuity.
The first electronic ignition I ever fitted had a duff soldered earth joint at the stator plate and needed re-soldering.
The red is from the pickup and should read between 90 and 120 ohms to earth I think. If your earth is ok and the pickup reading is outside of these values I'd say it's duff. Problem is sometimes stator resistance values are ok when cold but go up when they are checked on a scoot that's been used and is hot.
Good luck, electronic stators are shockingly unreliable in my opinion.

I'd go along with what Starwave said although there's possibly some confusion over what your meter is telling you. If it is reading 1 it could be telling there is a short between the red and earth which is quite possible if you trap a wire behind the stator when fitting it
