I am getting some mig welding done on the handlebars and concerned i might fry the stator/electrics as a charge will go through the frame. When you do a car you disconnect the batterey to stop this happening. Mine is a non battery series 3. do i have anything to worry about?

what is being welded ?
how much are you removing from the bars ?
will the plastic & rubber in there survive the heat ?
I'm thinking things like the control rod bushes...
I need to get a tiny crack near the gear change repaired on mine [that has been there for two years and hasn't got any worse], but was planning to remove them and completely strip them before any welding
