Help, just rebuilt my clutch and decided to replace the kickstart oil seal, took it out now cant remember which way it goes in

Does the seal fit with the spring side out or facing in?

For general info, you can use a special sleeve that fits over the kick shaft teeth. Grease it up and slide it in the hole, remove sleeve and install shim/circlip. Or carefully start the seal down the shaft and use a small tipped screwdriver to lift the seal edge around the teeth.

I use a piece of plastic pop bottle rolled around the shaft, grease and slide the seal down then pull the sleeve out.
