Crank taper identification...

Hey All,

I want to fit a Varitronic electronic kit to my scooter as the Indian one has died somewhere so I thought I'd upgrade. The motor is a 190 built by Harry Barlow from an Italian Li150 S3 but I'm not sure on the crank identification, ie is it GP or Li?

Can anyone identify it from the pictures I've taken of the taper? Want to avoid buying the wrong kit!

Many Thanks,

Hugh.

Thanks both,

Li/SX it is then.... Wanted to double check as I was told it was unlikely that Harry would build an engine using an Li crank..... Not in this case it seems!

How long ago was it built , the previous owner might have swapped a high spec crank over before selling this engine !
What sort of 190 is it state of tune etc it could just be a rebore slight tune and not have anymore power than a standart 200 plenty run 200, s on li style cranks

All stators can and do fail .yes even the super dooper ones like the vari and bgmmbd I would get the original rebuilt about 40 quid I got 2 done by jarv on here at lambretta rehab upgraded to fulL DC THE MONEY YOU SAVE COULD BUY YOU THE GP CRANK IF YOUR THAT WORRIED ABOUT A SMALL TAPER ONE

I'm not worried about it, unless there's any need to be? I bought it from someone who had the work done by Harry probably 7 or 8 years ago but never used it. I've done a couple of thousand miles on it before the ignition went tits up. It is a complete rebuild, longer conrod, jap piston etc and I already decided to try a Varitronic as it runs pretty hot since I added and expansion and bigger carb and matched the ports.

I just wasn't sure which crank it was and most say that 'it must be a GP if Harry built it', but evidently it isn't! :)

Have now ordered a Varitronic from Cam Lam...
