Jet Lionelli light switch wiring

I have just fitted another light switch as my other was faulty and all is good and working.
I have a few wires not wired up (black, yellow and purple i think) and just wondered if they need connecting up for anything?!
Is there anyway of having the battery live only when the ignition switch is on? At the mo i have to just flick off the black toggle.
Jockeys headlight, Casa loom and ignition switch, Wassel DC/battery.
Its one like this.
